Process, Impact, and Outcome Evaluation Questions
Introduction
Program evaluation is ideal in determining the effectiveness, efficiency, and overall impact of health promotion programs. In the case of an oral health promotion program, evaluation questions will help determine strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring that the program meets the expected goals of improvement of oral health behavior. This is also necessary for the reduction of oral health issues in the target population. Program stakeholders can gain insights on how the program is implemented, the immediate effects on participants, and its long-term contribution to better health outcomes by focusing on development processes, impact, and outcome evaluation questions. This paper aims to present the process, impact, and outcome evaluation questions.
Process Evaluation Questions
Process questions assess whether the program aligns with its expected implementation and intended goals. These questions examine the activities conducted in the program, the resources utilized, and the procedures applied to deliver the best outcomes, as noted by Ajzen (2020). Process questions also determine how program activities and resources influence its overall impact. The following are the three process evaluation questions for the oral health program.
- How effectively are community workshops being organized and conducted to promote oral health awareness?
- To what extent are oral health resources such as educational materials, toothbrushes, or toothpaste reaching the target population?
- How are healthcare providers and community leaders collaborating to ensure the cultural relevance and the appropriateness of the program activities?
Impact Evaluation Questions
Impact evaluation questions assess the immediate effects of the health promotion program on participants, particularly focusing on changes in their knowledge, attitudes, or behaviors. The questions will help in the determination of whether the program has fully affected the understanding of the participants or their motivation for adopting healthy habits…..
