Obtaining the funding and/or approval to develop a program is often dependent upon one’s ability to clearly articulate each element of the proposed program. PUBH 6475 Module 4 Assignment 2.

Proposing a health promotion program requires a well-thought-out plan that clearly identifies the health condition, target population, and anticipated activities.

Modules 2, 3, and 4 have covered the steps for planning and designing a health promotion program. For this Assignment, you will submit a proposal for the health promotion program you have been developing that meets a health need for a specific community.

12- to 15-page proposal (double- spaced, Times New Roman font):

Cover page should include:

Health Promotion Program

Introduction

Oral health is a fundamental component of the well being. Typically, there are various challenges faced by many communities in maintaining good oral hygiene due to the barriers including limited access to dental care, lack of awareness, or socioeconomic factors. The proposed health promotion program is focused on addressing the challenges that are faced in oral health by providing oral health education and enhancing access to dental services in the community. The project is relevant in that it will help in the reduction of oral health disparities and will ensure that there is prevention of any oral diseases that may result in serious health complications if not handled properly. With the use of culturally appropriate interventions and community-based approaches, the program will add value to the ongoing health promotion activities.

Community Description

The community that is focused on in the project on oral health promotion program are the low-income families and the persons who have limited access to dental health care. Typically, the program will mainly focus on the education of persons on the importance of oral health hygiene and ensure that there is provision of accessible dental services for those who may not have regular access to care. Furthermore, local health practitioners including dentists, dental hygienists, and community health workers will be able to work as partners in the delivery of education programs and services. Precisely, the policymakers may as well be engaged to ensure that there is support for progressive changes that will ensure that there is a promotion of access to dental care and that the program is sustainable.

The program will take place in various locations geographically with a focus on the urban areas that have a high concentration of the population at risk such as low-income families. Additionally, the project will be implemented in the community within Dallas in the state of Texas where access to health services such as dental health care is limited. Typically, the areas have a significant number of residents who are the minority and may have economic difficulties including the Hispanics and the African American population. Strictly, rural communities within the Dallas-Fort Worth area with limited access to dental care face a higher risk of oral health issues. The program will specifically address these communities in its implementation……. (click here to download full solution for $10)
