Introduction

The creation of a healthy and civil workplace is ideal for the enhancement of the performance of the staff and for obtaining optimal patient outcomes in the health setting. The understanding of the kind of environment that one is working in helps in the determination of areas of improvement and setting up the necessary approach to improve the civility of the workplace. In this paper, there is a discussion of the results obtained in the work environment assessment carried out with the use of the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory.

Work Environment Assessment

The results obtained in the Clark Healthy workplace inventory indicated a moderate score on the health environment. The key strengths include strong teamwork and collaboration among the staff which is a clear indication of an inclusive and supportive atmosphere.

There are concerns about communication transparency and conflict resolution, showing a need for more openness and respectful workplace communication. As such, leadership often responds slowly to uncivil behavior, which affects employee trust and weakens accountability across different organizational levels. Typically, there is also a lack of structured support for conflict management, making it difficult to address issues effectively and consistently.

The results revealed some surprising aspects. Precisely, one major issue is leadership’s poor response to uncivil behavior despite supportive settings.
